Yellow Poplar, also called American Tulipwood, is an excellent choice for sustainable construction as Poplar is plentiful, and grows rapidly and abundantly. Yellow Poplar is native to North America and due to it's large seed production it is one of the fastest naturally regenerating trees in the US, and is found in both pure and mixed stands. Poplar is NOT on the CITES (Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species) list of restricted or endangered wood species. GCM used UNTREATED, natural Poplar to create the custom-made kitchen cabinets, and used VOC-free glue and stain to assure a healthy kitchen and maximum LEED points.
